Jake Geiger: a former Longbow sergeant who, during a raid on a Vahzilok facility, was exposed to an experimental radioactive mutagen, which gave him radiation powers. He had never wanted powers, and the treatment to get rid of them wasn't covered by Longbow's employee insurance. Desperate, Geiger decided that his powers would help him to get rid of them. He quit Longbow, had a parody of his uniform made, and adopted the codename Longbow Reactor, to mock his former employers. (They tried to stop him, saying that only Longbow could use that word, but parody use of even copyrighted or trademarked material is legally protected in the U.S.) Then, he registered as a superhero and joined Hero Corps in the hope that he might eventually earn enough money to rid himself of his radioactive curse, and be normal again.
