Prince Reginald's fate was sealed when his carriage ran the witch Tatterwing off the road. He laughed and refused to apologize for it. Tatterwing cursed him with immortality as a frog, a wretched thing doomed to misery. The curse could only be broken by a kiss from a princess.
Centuries later, jaded and bitter, he decided to embrace his curse rather than waste his time trying to get closer to royal families. He found a mad scientist and signed himself up for brutal experiments. After years of pain the doctor twisted him into a monster, horrific and terrible.
The scientist was honestly surprised when his unholy creation broke free of his restraints, thanked him, and peacefully walked out the door.
